Giteru Inari Shrine is considered the original Inari shrine, predating Fushimi Inari Taisha. Located halfway up Mt. Funao, a beautiful vermilion shrine building stands atop steep stone stairs. In front of the shrine, Inari foxes are enshrined, protected by a wire mesh to prevent deterioration. The surrounding area features numerous sub-shrines, stone monuments, and geologically interesting exposed bedrock. A combined Goshuin (pre-written) may be available with Kenkun Shrine.
