Located on a hill with a view of Ueda city, Hakujya Shrine is part of the Ontake sect. It features a main hall, inner sanctuary, Dragon Falls, Fudo Myo-o, and Benten Falls Fudoson. The white snake deity in the inner sanctuary is impressive, with some areas having snake-shaped wooden offerings. Popular, especially in the Year of the Snake, for good luck charms. The approach is a steep, narrow single road requiring careful driving. Public transport is difficult, requiring a walk from the bus stop. It can be peaceful during off-peak times. Wild boar sightings have been reported.
